Build your network + score your dream job

Have you noticed the new “Connect” button on the redesigned profile page? CampusGroups is making it easier for you to build your network and stay connected with your classmates, colleagues and alumni. Actively networking and maintaining memorable relationships with the people you meet at school is one of the keys to finding a job after graduation and taking charge of your career trajectory.

From “contact” to Connection!

Connections will allow users to be aware of their peers’ involvements and activities. See what badges they have just earned; keep up-to-date on new leadership roles; view peers’ RSVPs to events and new group memberships. Met someone interesting at a networking event?  Connect.

Consider the possibilities. Every one of your classmates is on CampusGroups; you might be one button click away from great opportunities.

Behind the Scenes: My First Week at CampusGroups

My arrival

Greetings! I just arrived to CampusGroups last week and am thrilled to be working with such a welcoming group of people. I have spent the last week exploring the sophisticated system and the extensive tools and functionality that CampusGroups has to offer. Everyone on the team has been more than happy to answer questions, demonstrate a feature or share fresh, warm croissants from the nearby farmers’ market in Union Square. I’ll be posting regularly on the CG blog to provide news on features and share stories and pictures from behind the scenes. It’s my goal to help you discover what we do, and all that you can do with the CampusGroups platform.

What I will be doing

Firsthand, I’m learning how great it is to be a part of an international team. We have one office in New York, one in Paris, a new San Francisco location and a team in India as well. We work closely alongside each other with our developers, designers, campus relations and support teams communicating constantly with numerous Skype meetings across continents throughout the day. It’s a good thing, too, to already know everyone in the other locations:  I’m only in NY for a few more weeks. I’ll be moving to the Paris office soon for four months. I hope you will enjoy the journey with me!

New Forum

A few weeks ago, we re-designed our Discussion Board module and renamed it "Forum". You can now configure CampusGroups to have a school-wide forum, as well as individual forums for each group.

Online Forums have been used for a very long time but we think that they are still one of the best ways to communicate within your community.

With the CampusGroups Forum you can:

  • Post Articles, Question or Requests
  • Comment and like posts
  • Receive notifications via email or on your Mobile Device
  • Follow the entire forum or just a few topics
  • Restrict access to certain topics/categories, to certain people only

If you have any questions about our Forum module, please contact our Support Team.

The Store

This is an important new feature which is very useful for students organization who need to sell merchandising.

Inside the Surveys module, you can now create a new type of question called "Store". The Store allows you to enter a list of products with prices, descriptions, photos and stock availability. Payments can be processed through your school's integrated payment gateway (the same way it is done for event tickets and group membership fees).

If you have any questions about the new Store feature please contact our Support Team

Improvements to our Waiting List feature

Today we brought a great improvement to our Event Registration process.

When an event goes into Waiting List mode, sometimes, remaining tickets are still available for sales.  This happens when the students who are on the Main List don't actually complete their payment online.

Thanks to today's improvement:

  • The students who had started to register before the Waiting List activation will still be able to buy their tickets by just going back to the event registration page (in the past, they would only be offered to enter the Waiting List).
  • While allowing more tickets to be bought by these students, the registration cap will still be respected.

In addition:

  • When students start a registration, they have 15 minutes to complete it. If they ever lose access to the registration page and come back to it later, they are now offered to complete their initial registration thanks to a "Pay" button (only during the number of minutes that they have left).
  • We have improved the way attendees and ticket details are listed on the Manage Event page.

We hope this will be very useful!  Please let us know if you have any questions/feedback.

Thanks!
