iPhone App - December 7 Updates

We have not submitted any new version this week.

We are currently working on:
- Auto-login: logs user back in even after they have killed the App.
- Formatting: making sure the text size and paddings are all aligned.
- Notifications: event reminders, event updated.
-  People section: allow users to browse pictures of students from their  class and access useful information such as their email address.

Friday November 30 Updates

1) Login:
When a CG instance is behind login, we still want some pages to be accessible, like the Login page or the Reset Password page. This past week we added the Survey/Form page to this list.

2) Events:
On the event creation page we modified the "Save" button into "Create Event", because an event is created and visible on the calendar as soon as the button is hit. We also fixed the re-ordering of the Registrations Options. Moreover, when starting a new event registration without being logged on, a user used to see an empty Order Summary just after logging on successfully. We fixed this. Lastly, the timeslot issue for the duplicated events has been fixed. The same timeslot should now be displayed on the "Edit Event" page and on the "RSVP" page.

3) My Profile:
We improved each page's look and feel, keeping the same display for each type of content (title - borders - buttons).

4) Navigation:
The left menu has been improved thanks to the addition of Javascript. Pages are now being called in Ajax in order to speed up loading time. Additionally, the loading message has been improved to contain more text/details and be easier to read.  Also, the Generic Privacy Messages (example: "This page can only be accessed by Group Members"), have been improved to better match the context in which they were displayed. Finally, we changed the search and status boxes default values and behaviors.

5) Notifications:
We fixed some display issues on the comment boxes of the Notifications page.

6) Discussion Board:
We fixed a display issue (i.e. We added poster info back to the right), and we improved this widget's loading time.

7) Tags:
We made the Tags look more similar across all pages.

8) Stats:
We are now tracking Google Analytics hits on ajax calls. Also, a small bug encountered when accessing school statistics has been fixed.

9) Security:
We ran an audit on our Web pages and have added security to a number of pages.

- Groups: group type is now displayed on the details of a group.

- Officers: the name of the group is now displayed in the header of the officers listing page.

Friday November 16 Updates

1) Navigation:
We changed the layout of the Settings menu under Manage Group. The school administrator Control Panel is now separated for the group settings options, and located to the right (in red). It is now easier to access and click for school administrators.
Inline image 2Also, the Bookmarks button (little star on the right of the search box) was moved under My Profile and the Notifications button was made larger with "Notifications" written in order to make it more visible, like we did with the Manage button previously.

2) Media:

We reverted the feature which allows adding multiple tags to photos and documents. Moreover, if a user deletes all of a document's or photo's tags, default assigned tag will be "Unpublished". In addition, after clicking on the name of a tag (under My profile > My Documents, or Media > Docs), it is now possible to edit a document's tags from the popup. Once the popup is closed the list of tags is now refreshed to display any recent updates.

Finally the "Photos/Docs" dropdown's design was improved.

3) Website:

Unless granted permission under Settings > officers, officers will not be able to manage group website. Also, we fixed the website's "Colors & Graphics" section.

4) Events:
We fixed a bug where picked timeslots appeared twice in RSVP email confirmations. Additionally, from now on if an officer is not allowed to manage events, he/she cannot delete them anymore.

5) Group Emails:

Under sent emails, the "Not verified" Button enables to display recipients who have not read the email. A signature has to be included at the end of the sent email for this feature to be enabled.

6) Money:

Zero dollar transactions can now be included when downloading the excel report of a club's transactions.

An "Invite" button was added in the events lists.
