Event Spotlight: MIT Sloan's 2018 Spring Gala Sells Out in Minutes!

MIT Sloan's Spring Gala will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the spectacular Rosecliff Mansion in historic Newport, Rhode Island.

MIT Sells Out Event in Record Time

The annual Spring Gala at MIT Sloan School of Management is one of the most glamorous nights of the year at MIT, so its popularity among students comes as no surprise. But it doesn't come easy. A lot of hard work, organization and collaboration is put into ensuring a large-scale event is a great success. (Every club officer who has helped organize a major event can attest to this!)

The result of their dedication and efforts? Tickets sell out faster than ever! The yearly MIT Sloan Spring Gala event sold out 450 tickets for the initial sale in record time again this year: 7 minutes and 46 seconds! Congrats to the hard-working event organizers from MIT Sloan School of Management Student Life and Sloan Experience Comm, co-hosting the gala.

One of the key contributors to event success is strong leadership, and we are incredibly proud to work with some of the very best campus leaders who are creating enriching events and opportunities that inspire students to get active and involved in their communities. At CampusGroups, it is our mission to make it easy for students to continually discover all of the wonderful campus events and involvement opportunities available to them, and to help make it easy to register for events that interest them from anywhere, even on the go. Weโ€™ve found that the best way to do this is to equip club officers and event organizers with essential, all-in-one engagement tools to help keep members connected and bring them together.

Accordingly, we are thrilled when we see our campus partners creating hugely successful events such as MIT Sloan's Spring Gala! MIT Sloan's event organizers were able to utilize key tools in the CampusGroups platform, such as flexible ticketing options (e.g., setting a ticket cap with automatic waiting list activation, restricting access to certain people, and scheduling a given time to open the event), customized event registration pages with optional questions (e.g., Do you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies? Meat or vegetarian option?), personalized RSVP email confirmations and scheduled reminders before the event, feedback requests, and event co-hosting with multiple campus organizations.
