Improvements to the Points System
/Gamify Student Involvement with Points
CampusGroups Points system is one of the main modules to streamline and encourage student involvement outside of the classroom. The module allows you to automatically assign Points to users and/or groups based on what they accomplish on the platform, a fantastic way to incentivize both individual students and student organization leaders to increase their activity on the platform.
This automation is made possible by a system called Completion Rules, which allows school administrators to describe when a user or a group should receive Points. Group Points, for example, can be rewarded when an officer sends an email to more than 100 members, organizes an event, creates a survey and receives 50+ submissions or writes a news article. Points are automatically calculated (even retroactively) and listed on a Leaderboard.
Personalize your Points
CampusGroups offers a default Points strategy for all campuses. However, we know that every campus community has different needs and processes so we made sure that each school can decide to create and customize their Points based on their own preferred criteria.
There can only be one Points strategy per campus, but Badges (such as badges earned for joining a club or attending an event) can also be created by groups and assigned to any users on campus based on their accomplishments).
What is new?
To enhance visibility of this involvement data, we recently updated the display of this module to make it easier for users to track their Points and accomplishments, for administrators to easily see how groups earned a particular Point, and for group leaders to see a breakdown of their own earned Points.
We also made it possible for administrators to assign Points manually when a goal was reached outside of CampusGroups. No need to set up Completion Rules!
