New Mass Refund Feature: Canceling Large Events in the Context of COVID-19
/In light of the health concerns and restrictions on college campuses regarding COVID-19, the CampusGroups team is focusing on making it easier for Administrators and Group Officers to handle new and unforeseen circumstances involving managing their groups, events, and programs as efficiently as possible.
Many campus communities are dealing with a myriad of new obstacles, such as campus closures, a transition to remote learning and government regulations banning gatherings of as few as 10 attendees. This means a lot of established events need to be canceled quickly, and a lot of tickets need to be refunded.
To make this process fast and simple, we have launched a new Mass Refund feature that allows event organizers an easy way to cancel large events and create a large number of refunds in just three clicks.
CampusGroups Mass Refund feature creates a way to bypass the standard approval process and mark everything as refunded very quickly, allowing an administrator to skip the steps that are usually in place.
You can go directly to your events where registrants paid for a ticket and click the new 'Refund all event tickets' option. Not having to manually go through each transaction one by one will save you lots of time! By clicking this option, you will see a pop-up allowing you to send notification emails to attendees if you like. Just uncheck the box if you don’t want to send notifications. From here, you can just click “Process Refunds”.
You’ll be able to see refunded transactions under the Money > Online Revenues.
Note: The new Mass Refund feature does not refund the payment. Clicking “Process refunds” will simply mark ALL event tickets as refunded, and this action cannot be reverted. Your decision will be communicated to registrants and if a refund (partial or complete) has been granted, the school administrator in charge of refunding the funds will also be notified to do so.
