As many groups are transitioning events from in-person to virtual settings due to COVID-19 campus closures and social distancing mandates, newly remote officers can be left uncertain of the tools and steps necessary to effectively make an event remote-friendly (and still engaging!) The CampusGroups team would like to share some best practices from our wonderful campus partners at Binghamton University for creating, transitioning and promoting engaging virtual events for your group members (who more than likely are suddenly feeling isolated and very eager to connect with their fellow classmates).

New Mass Refund Feature: Canceling Large Events in the Context of COVID-19

In light of the health concerns and restrictions on college campuses regarding COVID-19, the CampusGroups team is focusing on making it easier for administrators and group officers to handle new and unforeseen circumstances involving managing their groups, events and programs as efficiently as possible.

Many campus communities are dealing with a myriad of new obstacles, such as campus closures, a transition to remote learning and government regulations banning gatherings of as few as 10 attendees. This means a lot of established events need to be canceled quickly, and a lot of tickets need to be refunded.
